With 30 years’ experience as both a Financial Advisor and a leader of Financial Advisors, Lars Olson founded Alluvial Private Wealth in 2021 as an independent firm to better serve his clients. For more than 25 years, he worked at Merrill Lynch, where he excelled in developing creative planning solutions. In 2025, Lars was honored to be named to the Forbes Best-in-State Financial Advisors list, a recognition that reflects his commitment to excellence and client success. Recognizing the complexity of wealth management as a discipline— as well as the many intricacies of his clients’ lives— Lars earned five advanced professional designations through rigorous training and returned to school to complete his MBA at Northwestern University. Today, he applies his knowledge, expertise, and experience to underscore the deep relationships he enjoys with his clients.

A particular focus of Lars is working with families challenged by the financial responsibility of caring for a loved one with special needs. As a parent of a child with autism, Lars has first-hand expertise in financial strategies to address current and future concerns. This focus is emblematic of Lars’ interest in helping his clients, as well as his community, on a personal level.

Lars is a co-founder of the Marion Forge small business plan competition. He has served as a board member of the Marion Rotary Club, Marion Area Counseling Center, and Alpha Group of Delaware, a charity dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities find jobs. Lars and his wife Brooke are the proud parents of three children Lena, Amick and Thoren.
